personality failure

when all else fails,
he told himself,
he would always have his personality that,
never seemed to fail him.
since he was a kid,
the moment he opened his mouth,
people listened, intently.
they laughed, and covered thier mouths,
never knowing exactly what to expect next to come out of his lips.
what insane thing would he conjure up next?
most of the time the things he said
didn't even make sense...
but in the context they were delivered
he always hit the mark with everyone listening.
but today,
for no unseen reason,
